New City KidsNew City Kids was established in 2000 in an effort to provide teen leadership development and performing arts opportunities to at-risk, low-income children and teenagers in Jersey City. The mission of New City Kids is: Loving Kids for Change; using the arts, learning and leading to bring transformation to the lives of children. Our vision is to walk with a child for up to thirteen years and be an advocate, family, teacher and mentor to that child. We strive to set these children on a path of life transformation that will carry them forward for the rest of their lives. To this end we offer several key programs, including: the After School Center for Performing Arts, the Teen Employment Leadership Development Program, City Sail (a free sailing school), and Summer Camp. We are embarking on a major restoration of the Cemetery grounds and Caretaker house.
